1. Forum: Language Wars: The Role of Media and Culture in Global Terror

Assoc Prof Jeff Lewis discusses his new book ‘Language Wars’ in which he deals with the relationship between the media, culture and new forms of global, political violence. Assoc Prof Peter Horsfield will respond and discuss the relationship of media and religion.

2. Film Night Fund Raiser: Candy

Please come and join us on Wednesday May 31, 6:30pm at the Kino Cinema (45 Collins St, Melbourne) where we will be screening the new Australian film 'Candy' staring Heath Ledger, Abbie Cornish and Geoffry Rush.

It is already getting a great deal of critical acclaim and is sure to be one of the biggest films this year.

Not only will you be seeing a great film but you'll be helping the Australian Centre for Democracy and Justice to survive and maintain our independence.

3. Membership - SPECIAL OFFER
Thanks to our friends at Ocean Press and Husta La Victoria St Bookshop we have 20 copies of The Emerging Police State by William Kunstler to give to the next 20 people that join up as members of the Australian Centre for Democracy and Justice. This book, valued at $23 is available to memberships which start from as low as $20 a year.

Our Membership scheme is three tiered, with students/concessions being $20, full price/waged $40, solidarity/household/organisation $100.
